American / National Divisions
NCFA baseball will be divided into 2 divisions, American and National
- American Division:
The American Division is designed for the higher skill level participant. These teams will
play a common schedule for the regular season. They will not have inter-divisional games
with the National Division. The "A" tournament teams will be assembled from the American
Division.
- National Division:
The National Division is designed for the average to below average skill level. These teams
will play a common schedule for the regular season. They will play inter-divisional games
with the American Division. The "B" tournament teams will be assembled from the American
Division.
- Team Composition:
Players must be evaluated within their own league to determine the skill levels. Once the
skill levels have been determined the league must then determine if the players need to
compete in the American or National Division. If there is more than one team in either
division the teams must then be "balanced".
- Tournament Teams:
- The goal for NCFA baseball is to put the best teams on the field to compete on the tournament level.
- Each league or organization will nominate coaches for each age division. The league will meet with those coaches and begin forming tournament team rosters. The tournament teams will play a pre-season tournament, meet periodically during the season, play a post season tournament and the Babe Ruth District rosters will then be set. Tournament rosters can be adjusted throughout the season or as needed.
- Players must participate within there league age for tournament play. The only exception will be if there is not a tournament team for that league age.
- Once players have been selected for the Babe Ruth Tournament Team, they must
committ to play all tournament games. No players will be added to the
tournament roster after the roster has been set. The only exception will be due to
injury, illness, etc.
