The City of Newberry is very proud of its park system that consists of five parks with an area totaling 55 acres and meeting many needs from passive to active recreation. Staffed by a Director, Assistant Director, and two groundskeepers, these employees, as is characteristic of all of our city employees, wear many hats. Richard Blalock came to the City of Newberry in 2002 with over 25 years experience in recreation. He currently serves as the Sunshine State Games Baseball,Basketball and Senior Basketball Director and is involved with many other sports organizations.
